Yorkshire Coast Dirt Dash – Our latest gravel bikepacking event

Route YC, the organisation behind Yorkshire’s ultimate road trip, has teamed up with us to launch the Kinesis UK Yorkshire Coast Dirt Dash. Our new bikepacking gravel event starts and finishes at the YHA in Whitby. Join us for the first-ever event, kindly funded by the Yorkshire Coast BID, on 13 and 14 July 2024. You can sign up for £95 (£90 for Cycling UK members) now on Entrycentral.

A well-tested concept in a new area

Similar to our Lezyne Cateran Dirt Dash and Dunoon Dirt Dash in Scotland, our Kinesis UK Yorkshire Coast Dirt Dash is a self-supported gravel bikepacking event. In addition the event takes you in two days around the dramatic scenery of the Yorkshire Coast and North York Moors National Park.

Moreover, you’ll be provided with a GPX file for the 98-mile route (157 km) and an electronic rider briefing. Additionaly you will get access to a support vehicle, a campsite, evening meal and breakfast.

Route YC offers great cycling on the Yorkshire Coast

Route YC offers some of the most inspirational coastal and countryside scenery in the UK. As well as sporting a huge variety of terrain, this part of Britain suits all kinds of cyclists. Moreover, we have spent six months carefully planning and testing the routes with Mark Beaumont and Jenny Graham. Now we are excited to see the first event on the routes.

With our new bikepacking gravel event we give you the chance to get off the beaten track and discover what the region has to offer. Additionally we do this in a very sociable, friendly and supportive environment.

Supported by Yorkshire Coast BID

We have worked closely with the Yorkshire Coast BID on this. Kerry Carruthers, CEO of Route YC, said:

‘We’re really excited to be offering people a variety of new ways to create their own adventure on the Yorkshire Coast as part of our new cycling campaign for 2024, encouraging visitors to think about more sustainable and eco-friendly ways to travel and immerse themselves in local experiences, as well as enjoy the best local food and drink along the way.’

‘The Kinesis UK Yorkshire Coast Dirt Dash event fits well into our efforts of attracting cyclists from around the UK as well as internationally, with a choice of easily accessible transport links, including the Hull Ferry Terminal as well as the national rail network connecting Scarborough and London Kings Cross in just three hours.’

Edge of Heaven with Mark Beaumont and Jenny Graham features parts of the Yorkshire Coast Dirt Dash route.
